Hello Lovelies and a Blessed Imbolc to all of you! Here is a lovely little prayer you can offer up to Brigid today to ask for Her Blessings as you celebrate this Sacred Sabbat:
Prayer to Brigid
Blessed Be the Goddess of Creativity.
Brigid, Bright One,
Goddess of the Forge.

Teach me to bear the fires of transformation,
The furnace that tempers my blade,
And makes me strong.

Be with me as I blaze my trail.
I light this candle in fiery offering to you,
Brigid, Goddess of Fire.

Although I am still working on sourcing some of the components I need for the larger smoke cleansing kits, I am happy to announce that three smaller sets are now available in the shop! These kits have what you need for your basic cleansing rituals while the larger ones I'm working on will also contain an abalone shell with stand, a feather, and a double terminated crystal.

Smoke Cleansing Kit II contains White Sage, Palo Santo, Benzoin Incense, Selenite, and Black Obsidian and is only $20.

Burning sacred dried plant matter such as Cedar, Pine, Lavender, Sage, Palo Santo and wafting the smoke around to cleanse negative energies in an area or around a person has been around for millennia and is popular in many cultures. It is commonly referred to as smudging, which is actually only one part of an entire sacred ceremony conducted by North American Indigenous Peoples.
The practice by non-Indigenous peoples of using sage bundles and cleansing negative energies is more properly known as smoke cleansing and is a common ritual amongst Witches and Wiccans. Whether a baby Witch or a seasoned practitioner, smoke cleansing is an easy and inexpensive method of clearing negative energies and replacing them with positivity in any space. Smoke cleansing rituals are not only for rooms, either. The practice is perfect to cleanse tools before and after use, or yourself or others.

Performing a "smudging" ritual is commonly performed when moving into a new home, during Springtime Sabbats such as Imbolc, or whenever there seems to be a build up of negative energies. All you really need to perform a smoke cleansing ritual is some sage, something to light it, and something to catch the ash. The dried plant life you decide to burn can be bundled or loose, and you can use your hand or a feather to waft the smoke around. More intense rituals also include incense, oils, crystals, and chants.
