DRAGONFYRE WEEKLY - January 18, 2021

It's shaping up to be a strange winter here in Southern Ontario, to be sure. No real snow to speak of, and although it's a bit chilly, I haven't worn a coat yet. Mind you, there's a pandemic out there so I don't leave the house much, but whenever I poke my head outside it just doesn't seem that cold. The seasons are shifting, with each season coming later (it feels more like November than the usual dreary, icy, frozen wasteland of mid-January), but the summers are definitely hotter and the winters warmer. Even if it's a natural shift happening, I'm sure it's being helped along the way by humanity. I'm not preaching - just voicing an observation. We all need to try to be more thoughtful with our outputs and more respectful of The Great Mother.

The "Mystery Box" option is no longer available and the category has been removed. Although these are really my favorite ones to put together, and I thought people appreciated surprises considering the sheer number of subscription boxes available, it seems that the people who contact me don't quite understand the definition of 'mystery'. Every single person who has contacted me about my mystery boxes available on Ebay has asked for a list of contents and/or pictures of what's inside. Doing that defeats the purpose, beside the fact that once I have put together my boxes, taken all the appropriate pictures and listed for sale I package them up. Once they're listed, they're ready to go and cannot be opened again without damaging the packaging. It is for these reasons I've decided to remove the option from this site and will remove the listing from Ebay within the week.

On the bright side, I've been hard at work putting together sets of stones and crystals grouped together for specific purposes and intentions. There are currently eight different sets available, ranging in price from $20-$30, depending on how many and which types of stones are in each set. More sets will eventually be available, and these will only be around until this series sells out, so make sure you get them while you can!

This week we’ve included a Lavender correspondence page for your Book of Shadows.
With shades ranging from pale blue to vibrant purples, there are over 400 identified varieties of Lavender, characterized into 45 different species. It's well known calming properties are what have attracted Witches to this wonderful plant for centuries.
Commonly used as an essential oil to help with everything from insomnia to treating burns, Lavender is actually part of the mint family. It is believed that it originates from India, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East starting from about 2500 years ago.
Another wonderful fact about Lavender is that the entire plant is edible, so the next time you're picking some from your garden to dry for your sachets and incense, try tossing a few flowers and leaves onto your afternoon salad.

Other notable associations for Lavender include those born under the Western Zodiac signs of Pisces and Virgo. Wednesday is a lavender day. It is associated with the elements of Air and Water, and Mercury & Neptune. Lavender is often used in offerings, rites, and rituals to the Goddess Selene.
You can find Lavender in our Witch Box I or one of our Herbal Starter Kits, both available now in the shop.

A warm welcome to those new to our little newsletter family, I hope you will find some useful information.

MysteriousDragonfyre.com is a new online shop, and is constantly evolving until I figure out what it wants to be. Logistics, pricing, and trying to always bring as much value to my fellow Witches is what fuels the changes. I may have figured out that Mysterious Dragonfyre wants to be what it initially set out to be: a place where Witches, Wiccans, Pagans, and all others in the spiritual and metaphysical community can order specialty kits full of things they can use. Check out our shop at MysteriousDragonfyre.com and you’ll find that I’ve decided to focus on sets of items put together so that there’s lots in each box that you can actually use. Since I’m putting the items together in a specific way, you’ll always pay less than you would if you were to buy everything separately. Each box is unique and lovingly curated and includes herbs, stones and crystals, incense, and so much more and will be available in different sizes and price points – something for everyone!

This week we’ve included an Amethyst correspondence page for your Book of Shadows. Whether rough, tumbled, cluster, pale lavender or the brightest of purple, look through a Witch’s collection of crystals and you are guaranteed to come across at least one.
This common crystal is found in many parts of the world, including Africa, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, and Russia. Known as the “Stone of Sobriety”, the ‘healing’ power most commonly associated with Amethyst is its special ability to help one overcome all types of addiction. Throughout history spiritual people have used it to cure and prevent headaches, eyestrain, and insomnia. It can also strengthen the immune system, and help balance the nervous system and brain, and so is commonly placed upon the Crown and Third Eye Chakras.

Other notable associations for the Amethyst include those born under the Western Zodiac signs of Aquarius, Capricorn, Pisces, Sagittarius, and Virgo. Saturday and Thursday are Amethyst days, and February is an Amethyst month. It is associated with the elements of Fire and Water, the First Quarter of the Moon, and Jupiter and Pluto.
You can find amethyst in our Protection Stone Set available now in the shop.
